Francesco Marconi is the R&D Chief at The Wall Street Journal where he leads experiments with emerging storytelling technologies, tools and techniques; establishes best-practices; and disseminates the methods to the rest of the newsroom.
Prior to WSJ he managed strategy at the Associated Press and led automation and artificial intelligence efforts.
An affiliate researcher at MIT Media Lab and a Tow Fellow at Columbia University, Marconi explores how media organizations can adopt tomorrow's technologies to tell powerful stories today. His ideas have been featured on Inc. Magazine, Huffington Post, PBS Media Shift, Quartz and MIT Media.
Francesco's first book "Live Like Fiction" was published in July 2017.
